For the past three years of Anime Overload we have functioned more similar to a three day festival rather than a convention. This wasn’t viewed as a set-back; although it had limitations, there were advantages. We were able to support food vendors that provided delicious sushi and snow cones. More importantly, we were able to establish a welcoming environment that made you feel involved no matter where you were in the building.

As we say farewell to the North Austin Events Center, we may be leaving behind our options for food vendors and our capacity may grow, but our new location at the Holiday Inn Austin Midtown will allow us even greater opportunities for bigger and better programming without the limitations of sound, time, and quality. We are happiest to announce that with this new change in location, we’ll be able to provide 24 hour and late night events. The move to the Holiday Inn Austin Midtown should foster a positive overall experience for everyone attending!

Twenty-four hour programming will include, but will not be limited to, a Video Room, a Gaming Room, and the Artist Alley. All other aspects of Anime Overload now have the option to run until the late hours of the evening, and all of the exact times and information concerning late night events will be released as the schedules are finalized.

We are excited to take full advantage of our new location and give everyone the programming they truly deserve!

We are glad to announce the first two guests for Anime Overload 4. Making his first guest appearance at Anime Overload is Funimation’s own graphic designer and cosplayer, Young Wang! Returning for his second year to Anime Overload is the talented voice actor, Jerry Jewell!

Young Wang has been working for Funimation as a graphic designer for over 7 years, working on such properties as Dragon Ball(-/Z/GT), Sacred Blacksmith, and Heroic Age as well as many other titles. He is an active member of the fan community as an avid cosplayer and artist.

With almost 80 credits to his name, Jerry Jewell can be heard in a wide variety of shows. He’s probably best known for his roles as Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket, Jimmy Kudo from Case Closed, Barry the Chopper/Number 66 from Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and most recently as Russia from Hetalia: Axis Powers.

Platform gaming presented by Play N’ Trade:

This year Play N’ Trade is graciously letting our gamers in with a grand total of 9 consoles to play on! This year’s gaming room will feature 6 Xbox 360 consoles, 2 PS3 consoles, and 1 Nintendo Wii console. We also are pleased to announce a midnight Dance Dance Revolution tournament with professional console pads! Winners will compete for prizes provided by the convention and Play N’ Trade! Table Top gaming presented by Cracked Monocle:

Coming back for another year of great table top experiences is Cracked Monocle and their expertise! From their normal hang outs such as Dragon’s lair, they have decided to show off their latest guides to their own table top creation: Tefra! So come and play alongside our Cracked Monocle table toppers with your own games or get lost in someone else’s!
